Project flow

We are based and rooted in the Flemish Masters’ native soil, right in the heart of Europe. We are close to Brussels airport, allowing for swift connections with regard to international transit.

For your paintings (wood panels or Flemish linen) we will always perform an in situ viewing (including international travel) before discussing analysis and treatment proposal as well as pricing when considerable conservation work is involved. All treatments consist of a complete condition check first and if relevant or required multispectral in-house imaging such as IRR, UV, Macro-XRF or X-ray to unveil old restorations and retouches, pentimenti or revisions by the artist, underdrawings, re-use of support or structural issues and many other secrets the work holds.

To bring your precious works to our workshops and lab we also offer specialized transport from anywhere in the world as well as taking care of customs clearance. We work with trusted certified art shipping only and closely monitor all handling in order to get your valuable works into Belgium and out again. The artwork will of course be insured nail to nail during transport and for the entire stay in our workshop.

Should you wish for your artwork to remain in storage before or after treatment we can call upon the services of Artport on site: a bonded warehouse for climatized art storage with the highest security norms, where your works of art are closely monitored in the vicinity of Brussels airport. Discretion and security are prioritized at all times.

The entire conservation process is accessible to the owner for remote follow-up through the use of the Virtual Conservator suite (by Articheck) enabling multiple media such as video, audio and pictures to be shared by the conservator with the owner of the work.

All treatments are extensively documented in a treatment report accompanying the work upon its return. Our team works by the international methodology and ethics as set out by international associations ICOM and ECCO.
